Find rockwool

Does anyone know where you can find rockwool?

What I need is to place a smoke chamber ontop of an existing masonry firebox and I need to lay a mineral fiber or fire resistant material under the firebrick and the existing masonry, then the concrete with be poured behind it for a final seal.

This is in southern California, Orange County to be exact. Anyone know of any suppliers for rockwool?

I've been looking, but everyone sells in large bags and I need a very small amount.

Have you tried a refactories manufacturer for things like burners. Aluminum silicate is the main ingrediant. Dont know if its concrete compatible

Could try McMaster Carr

I bought the rockwool for my attic at HD and Lowes. About $30 per bag.

I should have stated ceramic wool. Rock wool seems to vary on temp ratings.

Any drywall supply that sells commercial materials should carry it , but again, a full bag is more than you need. You could see if they'd sell you a part of a "broken" bag for a few bucks....
