fence post

I want to put in a 4x4 fence post with 2 flat surfaces so that one side holds a gate and the other a part of a fence. I want it to be at 130 degrees. How can I either cut the post, or build it up so that the gate and the fence are on flat surfaces?

What sort of fence post are we talking about? A round one?

What do you mean by 130 degrees?

I assume you need a 40 deg filler next to the 4x4.

  1. Bevel rip a 2x4 at 40 deg with a table Saw
  2. Glue 'B' to the 4x4 with Titebond type III or Polyurethane glue
  3. Secure with pins or brads
  • Take the cut off from the 2x4
  • Rip along dotted line to form section C
  • Rotate C 180 deg
  • Repeat step3
