Fascia board

When you go to sheet the roof where exactly do you bring the sheathing in relation to the sub fascia board? Flush or set back a little?

it depends on the pitch of the roof but ideally you want the sheathing to butt to the top of fascia board with the outer most edge of sheathing flush(plumb) to the front/top of fascia allowing roofing materials to plane out smoothly and possible drip edge to lap onto fascia.

X2 and nail sheathing to fascia board from top as well as to the tails.

If you are using an aluminium (or plastic - yuck) drip edge you are better to have it back even 1/4" then sticking out 1/16th inch.

it depend on the roof , what kind of roof tile, fiber cement roof? usually circumstances, the fascia board is matched with roof tile.

it varies from framing crew to framing crew. some guys will set the fasia board so the sheathing will hit on teh very edge of the subfascia, others will set it so the sheathing hits dead center on teh sub fascia..

by doing it the 2nd way, it will create extra tension on the drip edge which makes it harder to fit aluminum cladding under the drip edge

We allways set it so the sheeting falls in the middle of the gutter board.Alot eaieser if you put the gutter board up first.Just run a straight edge down the rafter till it hits the middle of the board than nail it.
