F chanell install question...

Greetings,

I am replacing my old aluminum siding on my garage with vinyl and also installing aluminum soffit. I am using aluminum F channel at the house and wonder if the nail flange has to be up. The instruction call for the nail flange up, but the flange hits the trusses. Would it hurt to leave the nail flange down?

Thanks

It does not matter. The flange facing down is only a minor problem when you go to install you J trim or utility trim for the vinyl siding that is going to come up to your soffit.
