Exterior chimney clearance

Are there any professional masons out there that can answer whether or not 2" clearance (per code) between the sheathing/housewrap is required if adding a new chimney on the outside of an existing house?

thanks

Exterior chimney clearance

I have no idea what "your" code state's but here in WI, the requirement is only 1" of clearance on exterior walls, 2" on interior applications.
