Extend existing deck

My existing deck off of the house falls short of our above ground, round, pool by 3' at the closest point. The joists run from the house towards the pool and overhang the beam for the last 2'. How can I tie into the existing deck to extend it to the pool?

Another situation I have is the existing house deck height is 2" over the pool edge and the ideal height is 1/2" below the pool coping. Not low enough to make a step in the deck so I guess I'll just have to have the board edges above the pool edge unless someone has good suggestions.

Extend existing deck

Some pictures would help.

Does new deck extension have to support new diving board?
