egress window help

Im trying how to decide on how to finish off the area around the outside of my egress window. Im thinking either use treated 2x6 and tap-con to the foundation so it matches the rest of the window well or I can just paint it. Any suggestions? I dont know if it's bad to put a lot of tap-cons into the cinder block foundation. the window was installed before I bought the house or I would have had the contractor finish it. here is a picture.

looks to me like it has wood around it already so paint with exterior paint or nail trim over it

How about a guardrail and gate. It would certainly change the view from the topside. That's a deep hole, you should have something there.

ya, I plan on putting up a guard rail. I am looking specifically to cover the exposed cinder block. should I just paint the block or cover with wood?

Just continue the siding on down.
