Egress window with brick veneer

2 Attachment(s)
Can someone point me in the right direction on this. I am installing an egress window in the basement and using 2x6's for a header. Should I have the concrete cutter start the cut right below the brick (if so, do I need to use a lintel to support the brick), or, should I leave some concrete below the brick.

My other question is what is usually done on the exterior of a house to cover up the treated lumber header? I've attached images of the outside and inside of the wall in question.

Thanks for any help in advance.

The size and position of the window might dictate where you cut. If possible, I'd leave the concrete in place to use as the lintel. Otherwise you would need to install some steel under the brick.
I'd trim the exterior with one of the composite alternatives.
