Durock seems very thick?

I have seen thinset tiles right on wood with in floor radiant heat even, 3/4 advantech screwed with const adhesive, + 1/2 cdx with const adhes, screwed to engineered I joists through both and stapled together between. It may also depend on the type of tile... this was porcelain. It's been in place for 4 years.

Oh and yes Ditra is a nice product and thinner and less messy than durock. Nice for floors, anyone know if Ditra can be used vertically or with cultured stone? I doubt it, just a thought.

Simple:

Go to main home page of the site. In this case, you have a question that might fit into the "Remodeling" Forum. So you would click on that. On the upper left, you will see a small GOLD colored box that says: "New Topic".
Click on that.
Voila - There you go. Type in the main gyst of your question in the "title" line, then type in your question, or comments, or answers.

Good luck posting in the future. Also, don't worry too much about whether you posted in the proper forum section. If it is better suited for a different section, we will move it over there.

What I'll do now, is move your question over to it's own, separate thread in the REMODELING section.
