drywall finishing

:furious: Just wondering if anyone has ever omitted finishing joints at wall and ceiling by installing some sort of box or crown moulding? I just hate finishing drywall overhead!

If that is what you want to do, go for it. I would still tape or caulk to keep air flow down.

Lots of new construction doesn't get ceiling/wall joints taped and as Dave pointed out, it should. It only takes a little patience to develope a technique that will work for you, and if nothing else, get a stainless corner tool and get busy. I personally like crowns, but in the spec homes I build, they do not get high end trim, so we finish it correctly.
