Drying time for mortor before grout

I've now read 3 different recommendations in regard to how long to wait after putting up tile (tub/shower surround) before I put in the grout. I've already completed a number of bathrooms but am always interested in the current thoughts on the process. I am using "normal" grout with no additives.

Depending on how warm it is in the space, and humidity, it could be done same day. I would at least wait one day to do the grout, so that you give the mortar time to dry, since it will still be "green" if you attempt to grout the same day you put it down.

Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Ren: Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool! Stimpy: So what'll happen? Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

You need to let the thinset, "set", before you grout, otherwise the tiles will move.
I grout the next day.
