Any suggestions to keep initial cost as low as possible and any type of substitutions for rebar or any part of my project

I'm assuming from you description that you want to pour a new driveway?

Keep the cost low? Do all the work yourself.

The small amount of money you might save by cutting back on rebar or other materials will be quickly lost the moment you see the big cracks and realize that it has to be done over.

Concrete is one of those things that you only really get one shot at it....."Do Overs" are not pretty......

Just about anything you can do to lower cost is also going to lower the strength.....labor is about your only 'variable'. And if you don't have experience....then your pretty much SOL.

I have done two concrete projects now...first one was done by a contractor....this time around I hired the same day worker he used....saved me a couple of thousand and I got a better product.

Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there.
