I have a large beam (gluelam) that supports my upstairs that runs below the ceiling of my garage. On either end of the garage there is a large vertical beam that runs directly under the beam in the garage that is attahced to the beam that runs along the ceiling. It looks like the beam being drilled holds up the beam that runs along the ceiling. Is it okay to drill through it to run a gasline for a tankless water heater? The hole is about 1 - 1 1/4 " diameter. The beam looks like a 4X4 or 4X6 with 2X4's on either side of it. Thanks for the help....
