As with many questions posed on here, vagueness leaves one with the decision to either not answer - or over answer. I elect a third option which is to request that you be more specific. Are we to address the tree or the milled timber. If the latter, the age of the boards, the method used to dry them, and sizes that you have to work with will assist anyone who wishes to respond.

I personally would never do it - But I am sure it would make a lovely Christmas tree.

douglas fir


Pretty strong wood. It makes good airplane construction material, although a bit heavier than sitka spruce.
