Doors or Sheetrock?

Stupid question here....I think I know the answer, but wanted to see other's opinions....

I'm at the sheetrock stage of my basement finish, and wondered if I should hang the interior prehung doors before I start sheetrock.

Thanks in advance

Hang the rock first.

NO!!!!!

Get the mess out of the way before adding any trims or finished materials---

Rock first so all the dust, primer and paint do not get on the doors. Also far faster to paint with a roller around the doorways with no cutting in to do.

The main reason is because you flush the door jambs to the sheetrock when hanging the doors.

Also easier to cut the rock when the doors not in. Just drywall over the hole and cut out after (top sheet) then on the bottom if you have say a 7' space beside the door put in a 8' and cut it in place.

having door jambs and window boxes in place also makes it a major pain in the butt for the taper, ive known gc's that want to get a jump on the trim.. when the board hangers show up they simply tear out the door frames or leave the site until someone else removes them
