I'm framing a room in my basement. The ceiling is on the short side, so the cripple studs will be played by scraps of OSB.
I have been able to find a lot of information on framing walls and doors, however, I have not been able to find any reccomendations on framing doors that are adjacent to walls. How far out does the door frame need to be from the adjoining wall to prevent interferance?
Below, I have a computer model which would have it framed out 3" from the wall (thickness of two 2X4's). Is that acceptable or should I add some space between the king stud and the ajoining wall? Drywalling such a small strip seems like it could be quite troublesome. What's the right way to frame that corner and position the door?
