Dog holes along foundation

I had a dog who loved to dig holes around foundation of the house. We recently got rid of the dog and I am wondering if I need to climb under my deck and fill in the holes he dug. None of the holes are too big. Just big enough for a lab to lay in and feel cool. The house is built on a crawl space and has a french drain with a sump pump running along the inside perimeter of the crawl space.

Do I know to fill the holes and tamp the soil down and regrade the area under my deck?

Any advice is appreciated.

I’d fill them, you don’t want water pooling there.

We didn't get rid of him because he dug holes. We gave him to a friend who had some land because we couldn't give him the attention he needed. I am starting grad school next month and we are expecting our first child in October. He is a great dog just deserved more attention than we could spare.

Still makes no sense to get rid of the dog. Having room to run is great, but dogs also make good family members, and great alarm systems. You could always look at getting a smaller size dog after the child is a little older, since the child would love to have a pal to hang with.

As for the holes, depends on how large, you could try to move the dirt to help fill, or have your friend that has the dog, give you dirt in trade to help fill.

You think the dog needed attention? Wait until the rugrat gets here.

If he comes back saying he gave the child to a friend with more land, then we'll have some problems!
