does this need fireblocking

attached is a photograph of where my soffitt and ceiling come together. I removed a piece of drywall for a better view. Does the area above the top plate of the soffitt, up to the bottom of the floor and between the floor joists need fireblocking? If so I have Roxul that I can stack above the top plate of the soffit, or I can cut some 5/8 drywall and fill in the spaces with that in areas where there are no obstructions?

17,000 dryer fires a year, when did you last clean the inside of the dryer near motor or the exhaust ducting?

Basically you want to close off any opening from the vertical wall space from the space leading into the floor joist so a fire can not go there.
