Denshield Backer

Is it a must to apply thinset to backer even though I put 30 screws in each 32x60 piece?

Denshield Backer

The thinset helps to even out any irregularities in the floor. Not doing so potentially could lead to a void in the floor which could cause a crack in the tile later. The seams also need to be taped.
