how do I remove a ground level deck that's attached to my house?

If you’re not trying to salvage anything a chainsaw will make quick work of it.

Cut it up into manageable pieces then unbolt the ledger off the wall.

Are you talking about sequence or tool choice?
Sequence would be:
Railing
Decking
Floor joists
Staircase
Rim joists
Posts
Ledger

Tools:
Sawzall with a wood with embedded nail blades. A few packs.

Deck Removal


I would take it apart one piece at a time. Unbolt the ledger last. If material is bad discard into trash as you take apart.
