deck for a mobile home

We want to build a deck for our mobile (manufactured) home. We've been told that because our home is on pilings rather than a foundation, we should NOT attach the deck to the side of the house. The deck height will need to be almost 4 feet. Any advice on how to stabilize a deck this high that is not attached to the house?

Are you living in a mobile home park? If you aren't, then the most logical would be to dig post holes, pour a concrete footing, put the posts in(Size depending on your span you need to cover), and build your deck off of this base structure.

If you aren't in a mobile home park and would like some more specifics, please post back and I'm sure we can all help to walk you through the process as best we can via text and diagram :)

No, we are not in a park. We are on an acreage in northern alberta. Our soil is mostly hard packed clay and difficult to dig, but I suppose we can rent an auger to dig post holes.
