Deck ledger screws maybe too long, help!!

Ok I am building a deck, the plans via lowes called for 1/2x6inch lag bolts that would be counter sunk for the to make them flush with the legder. The lag bolt only have 3inches of thread on them. When I look in the basement 2.5inchs of the thread are through the beam of the house and exposed. Is this ok???? If not I had planned to go with 1/2x4inch lag bolts and just place them a few inches over from the 6inch ones that are now sealed with caulk. The deck is 16x16 with 2 sides on the house, and supported via 6x6 lumber in 6 locations. Thanks for the help

You are asking if 1/2" of threads will hold ??
I'd say that is definitely not OK
What are these lag bolts holding in ?
The ledger board ?

Just swap them out to 4”. You probably should step up to 5/8” so you get a good bight in the same hole.

The plans call for counter-sinking the lag screw heads and washers?

Be safe, Gary

If you can access the back then forget the lags and through bolt.
