deck framing


Can I span 14' using 2x10 pt wood 16' oc?

Only if Southern Pine, as Dave's site said. Any of the seven other species: http://www.anthonyforest.com/pdfs/DCA6.pdf

Most Building Departments are using this for spans, footings, ledgers, fasteners, bracing, etc., keep in mind this is minimum required code for safety, from the wood supplier.

deck framing


I should have mentioned that I probably would not span 14'
I only have 6-7' between my beams & my joists are 12" OC
Its rock solid & was not that much more $$ to build it sturdier
