Deck above a cement patio, footing question for the post

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a good answer on what I need for footings for post on a deck above a cement patio. The house is a new construction and is a walk out basement. The deck will be 46'x 16'. I'm thinking of digging the footings for where each post will go (4'x'1). The cement patio will extend past these footings. My thought was to pour the patio and footings as one with the re rod from the patio being connected to the re rod cages in each footing. Then putting the 6''x6'' anchors for the post on top of the pad, but above the footings. Good idea???

Thanks,
Adam

If the footings and patio are one, the seasonal rise/fall of the patio will work on the footers also, trying to pull them out. Seperate footings and patio pad.
