cutting trussess

I need to cut a few existing conventional roof trussess for adding 10' wide gable roof. Because I want to create a slope ceiling and higher window in existing bath room. Building examiner saying thhat is not possible to do it, all roof would fail down.I don't know what is main cause to make it fail down.
Is there any special detail you can advise me to do it. Thx'

I've done three like you propose. A truss company's Engineer designed a fix for a few hundred dollars. The other one was designed by a Structural Engineer. You need the paperwork for the City/County and for liability issues with the Homeowners Insurance carrier.
And, welcome to the forum!

Thank you very much for your reply Mr,Gary!
Right now my problem is to get a rough idea to develop detail for for the roof work. Because plan exminar advised me that to change all roof which is not exceptable.(otherwise as he says:all roof fail down). The insurance, paper works are not problem now, just for permit issue, I need details .
Thx.

The only way you can get details is as Gary said, from a truss engineer, structural engineer, or an architect. You cannot get them from anyone here.

Hi

You need to understand that a trussed roof is not the same as a standard roof - truss roofs are 'engineered' specifically to meet the load characteristics of the roof, simply cutting out a section of a truss roof can lead to the remaining roof becoming an unstable structure then you will have real problems on your hands and to your bank account as the insurance company will not cover you.

You really have no choice other than to follow GBRs advice.

Regards

Your logic makes no sense. You were told how to proceed and why.
What part of this do you not understand?
