Cutting portion of foundation for a doorway - right tool?


Hi all

The previous owners of my home installed an addition with new foundation. They left a 6.5 ft "crawl space" and made it's entry door above the foundation as shown here:



I'd like to create a normal doorway with an at grade threshold.

To cut a portion of the foundation out, what tool would be best to use? Any tips regarding the process would be much appreciated

Cutting portion of foundation for a doorway - right tool?


Your gonna need a concrete saw. Usually gas powered with diamond blade. Use one that's large enuf to cut the depth that u need.

But before u cut, it is important to be sure it is structurally safe to remove it.
