Curb for shower is close to heater, how to proceed?

Should I just make it thinner on that end so it's just in front of it (towards the shower) like this version or or put it close to the drain like version 2?

Can't you move the heater?

Bigger project than I want to take on right now. I need this shower done this week and if I go down that road it wont happen.

The pipes come up right there from the floor so I'd have to rip the floor up and move those over.

Move it or install a shorter heater.

Unless this is a slab there's no need to cut out the floor to relocate or shorten the heater.

The pipe comes up right out of the floor.
