Creating slope with Hardy Backer board.
 
Can Hardy backer board be installed on a walking surface, with furring strips to create slope? Both 1/2" and 1/4" thicknesses, if ok, what would the maximum span between furring strips for each thickness?
This is an exterior deck that is currently flat, we want to create slope with the Hardy backer board, we will then Waterproof before a finish pour of concrete?

Since concrete wants to self level on the surface wouldn't you have to slope the concrete whether your substrate is sloped or flat?

Ayuh,... The concrete pour will take care of any pitch problems in, 'n by itself....

Skip the hardy board, 'n pour the concrete, 'n finish it to whatever grade ya want...

It has 0 strenght, can not be laid with any gap under it or it will just snap off, can not just be installed directly over a slab.
All it's made for it to give the tile something to bond to.
