Crazy question about full house construction.
I know this question has a million answers, but figured I'd throw it out there and see what happens.
How many general contractors/builders are on this website and of all of you what does a house cost to build on average??? I know, I know, huge question. But figure you're building a single level rambler with 1700 sqft up and the basement unfinished. Nothing too crazy, stucco exterior and 3 beds 2 baths. Where do you live and what have projects cost you to build. Not including the land....just the structure. I'm thinking I can build a similar house for $160-170K, am I being unrealistic. Chime in if you have built an entire house before and the rough style and size and what it cost you. Thanks |

Crazy question about full house construction.
Around Tulsa, OK, it would cost you about $145,000 to build, taking lowest bids and not lifting a hand yourself and not counting the mark-up of a GC. That's with the basics and a few niceties. Average house. Could do it for $100,00 if you did a little work yourself.

Crazy question about full house construction.
Your best "guess" is available right on the website you provided. Costs vary because of regional differences in labor and material costs. For instance, in NY a carpenter gets 50 bucks an hour. In Florida, 75 bucks a day.
