Cracks in ceiling
it is common occurrence of cracks in ceiling cause by electrical conduits..the cracks occur along electrical conduits

Cracks in ceiling
Electrical runs either as wires or in conduit(for residential construction) run in,or thru, the center of joists, so they are not supposed to be near drywall or plaster. Cracks along panel joints that are not properly nailed/screwed are not uncommon.
