crack in glass mirror

Above my gas fireplace I have a large wall mirror and a crack has started from the corner of a switch hole that was previously cut int the mirror. The crack can't be felt on the surface but you can see it in the mirror about 8 inches long. Is ther anything I can do to prevent the crak from expanding?

About the only way to stop the crack form expanding would be to drill a hole thru the mirror at the end of the crack.

This is obviously not an ideal solution - but there really is no other way to stop it from spreading.

Check with your local glass shop and they may have an extra one that they might sell for a few dollars.

When drilling glass, don't let it get hot...take your time and try not to hurry.
