crack in basement wall

just had a addition put on my house .where my new basement connects to the old part. i get water from the crack where the 2 walls meet. what is the best thing to use to seal the crack water tight. thank for any input. Jim

Sounds like a poor mating job, but how big is the crack?? For cracks up to about 1/2", urethane caulk, and not the urethane foam in spray cans.

I have heard very good things about drylock and drylock paint, but have never used myself. Maybe it would be a good idea to either tuck morter into the joint or use some heavy duty caulking and go over the area with a couple coats of drylock paint. Just a suggestion

impo, drylock sucks but so does ANYTHING else done from the inside,,, either stop it outside OR inject hydrophyllic polyurethane grout into the crk thru epoxy injection packers,,, its a little late to remind the constructor to use waterstop in that location.

ps - hydraulic's better but will still fail,,, remember, wtr runs downhill,,, if it can't enter thru the crk you see, what happens to the wtr ? be easy on branden - he's a newbie ;-)
