Covering pressure treated 4x6 support posts on my porch

I've seen composite or plastic 1x4 and 1x8 boards i could use to frame the posts i just replaced (original was 3- 2x4's screwed together and framed in painted pine) on my porch. They are $30 and $40 each piece, I have 7 posts...i can't bend aluminum, and I'd rather not spend $140 per post...any suggestions to make it easy for a novice?
