Condensation UNDER insulation in Attic finishing project

We're in the process of finishing our walkup attic. I'm using recycled denim insulation with a plastic vapor barrier in the roof. It's an ongoing project for me so it has been "in-process" for about 8 months now from early summer to now-I'm in the midwest). I got about halfway through with the insulation when I had to pull some of the finished insulation down to do some preliminary framing. To my horror there was a significant amount of condensation frosting under the insulation. Could this be due to the partial finish (humid air leaking behind from adjacent unsealed areas)? or is something else going on?

Thanks
Tim
