concrete overlay or build deck on cracked patio

we have a 22 x 40' concrete patio that has an uneven oval area that was made to save the trees that later died. had concrete poured in the oval which has now sunk over an inch. very unattractive and unlevel. The cost to take out old concrete will be very expensive, not to mention the cost of dirt to fill on and pour a new slab.
Concrete has been painted. Is an overlay possible? Or can a deck be built over part of it? Its a big ugly mess.

concrete overlay or build deck on cracked patio

IF the paint is 'tight', there are some coatings avail which might work but a cementitious overlay won't,,, or let's put it this way - if we were to do that, we wouldn't guarantee it UNLESS we removed the paint 1st & made proper conc repairs,,, long before i got into conc repairs, i did place a wooden deck over our junk conc using p/t wood - 30yrs later, its still there

if you hear it from a guy in the apron store, be VERY suspicious the mtl/method will work,,, when it time to build something together, they won't answer phones NOR help
