Concrete,+ Masonry questions,..??

Ayuh,...

I've got a rental house on the water,..
I'm building a new set of stairs going from frontdoor levels along side the house to dock level,..
I'm framing/ forming them out in steel, which will stay as a permanent feature,..

I have a small amount of sand/ gravel mix, left over from a previous 10 ton pour,... Well,. 9 ton,.. the leftovers is about a ton...
Moving it about 15' vertical up a steep hill,+ accross the yard will be a serious Chore, but doable for me...
Drawback is the Uphill move,+ probably not enough material....
As an alternative,...
I have a good 15, maybe 20tons of crushed Limestone, disguised as a parking lot extention... This is good 3/4" minus,... Lots of minus...

The Concrete question I have is,..??
Can I use the crushed limestone, instead of the round stone,+ sand for my recipe,..??
Will the limestone dust cause any adverse effects to the concrete's Finish,...
Will the lime change the chemical mix of the recipe,..??

I'll be shooting for a light broom finish....

My Masonry question,.....

Beside these stairs is the chimney,.. It's stacked mortar'd full ring blocks,...
Looking at it, I see that there is some hairline cracks around it, cracks are between the blocks,+ the mortar...
I'm thinking of slathering the whole thing with a hyd. grout mix,...That should seal everything up,+ keep it from falling apart,..??

Other than dampening, how should I prep the block surfaces to accept the grout,..?? Wirebrush,..?? Good Washing,..?? Acid bath,..??

Here's a couple of shots, just to give you an idea of what I'm saying,....
Looking down to the water,...

Lookin' Up,.....

The rest of the chimney,...

Thanks for the replies,....

You are a little late looking for help. You should have planned before you jumped. To many questions.thoughts and few details for a hip-shot answer.

Do you expect a good answer in 6 hours from volunteers that are busy doing what they do best?

Someone may give you some suggestions as long as they are not responsible to the inspector the job is being hidden from.

To be short and sweet - Yes.

It may not be smart or the best based on your lack of information and loose local terminology.

That is next to nothing, but good enough after looking at the shots of the location. -
