concrete driveway

does anyone know can you apply ashphalt ontop of concrete. i would like to make my drive way ashphalt and hopeing i wouldnt have to remove the concrete first. any sugeeston please help me

you can apply tarmac over concrete on a binding layer. I assume because you are planning to tarmac over a concrete drive the concrete is in a poor state of repair.

It is best practice to break out the concrete and form a suitable subbase of hardcore (DOT 2) and then build up a tarmac drive over that.

Tarmac applied over a concrete drive can lift and fail to property adhere, the life span of tarmac over concrete will be less than if the drive was replaced properly

we overlay conc hgwys all the time w/blacktop,,, just make certain your conc's in good shape 1st,,, you'll need a tack coat on clean conc but its a fairly easy task,,, since you're not doing it yourself, talk it over w/your paver.

2 cautions - 1, if the conc & base isn't in good condition OR repaired properly, your o'lay'll have a short life; & 2, those jnts in the conc'll show up in the o'lay,,, reference & sawcut 'em into the new lift.
