concrete block house shower
Hi!--have a new built concrete block house, with a walk in shower that has 2 exterior concrete block walls. The floor is concrete slab.
It seems redundant to tile, mortar joints over mortar, and like another poster, I can't sacrifice the interior dims for membrane etc..

Ideas? A concrete finisher said he could apply 1/8"-3/4" concrete containing resin to make a smooth cementitious surface w/o seams, wow, pricey..would a liquid granite, polymer etc applied directly to the block do it? Is there a thin sheet material that looks better than cultured marble, or a sort of thermoplastic sheeting that would work?
Could liquid resin be applied to fully seal the block walls, and mini-river rock pepples applied-I saw this done for a patio subject to rain so wonder about indoor application to this shower...appreciate help..

You will need to water proof that---absolute must.

Check out Latacrete--HydroBan--They have a nice installation video--See if that suits the situation.

epoxy paint should do it.

The best "thin" membrane.....
the best solution would be Thermacote, as it will block the moisture and block the cold from migrating through the cement and keep that shower from being cold! It is an excellent solution:
