Can someone explain to me the different kinds of compaction tests that are normally used in new construction.
Spoke to an engineer today while getting a test on a footing(raised slab). The developer had them test the lot as a slab test(density) and it passed for 95% I guess for a monellithic slab. I asked him why I couldn't use those results for my raised slab with footing. He said that the footing test was completely different. On the mono slab you still have the same bearing on the perimeter everything is just poured all at once.
that's a new 1 on me,,, never ran into different compaction tests for mono/uni-pour vx conventional footing/slabs/hgwys,,, be interested what concmasonary has to say about this.
