Comments / Sugestions on deck design

I’m about to start a deck in replacement of the rotting one I have recently removed. I’ve attached my plan and was wondering if anyone would like to comment on it or even give suggestions. This will be my first attempt at a deck, and have researched the topic for quite a long time.... thanks to this site. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You definately don't need to triple those beams. A double rim will be plenty stout.

I'd also look into using 2x10 joists instead of 2x8's. That would easily allow you to remove the middle beam, posts, and footings. You might save some money and I guarantee it'll be easier.

You make a good point... I have a very bad habbit of overbuilding things. As much as I would love not to dig unnessesary footings I want to make sure it would be ok if it ever gets inspected. Ill definantly have to look at the cost/benifit of going this route.

The joists coming from the house over lap the first beam and Ill block in between those and the main areas joists. Would you suggest lining the joists off the house up to the other joists and sistering them together with lag bolts?

cheers
