color streaks on new stucco

Hello,

I am so happy to find this site from googling because we need advise as what to do with a dispute with a local stucco contractor.

Here's the problem: We put on new stucco on the existing part as well as the new addition of the house. The newly finished stucco top coat shows streaks around the bottom of a large bowl window (new), around the existing windows, and at the base of the exterio walls where stucco joints a rubber barrier. The streaks are darker color and looks like the area of stucco contains more moisture than the area under the vent.

Here's the background: The stucco was installed by a reputable stucco contractor, who has been in business for more than 20 years. We were going to stop on only applying the base coat but was talked into applying the finish coat for possible higher resale value. The base coat was done in early May and the top coat was put on a month afterwards. The stucco top coat is with Portland cement/acrylic paint materials.

The contractor wants to be paid but I worry about the problem with the streaks. Based on the information given, could you please tell me what could have happened during the installation that would explain the streaks? Are there long term implications that we should worry about?

Thanks in advance,

The confused home owner

Please post some pics.

unless you paid very big bucks for corner to corner rework ..it will take time (lots of variables) for this to blend. Also test this area with an uniformed eye. Hand a new buddy a beer... walk aroung the house..show off your new work... 2 more beers and you will get the truth... Icehouse works great...
