Cminey Chase Cover

I was told by a friend that I could cap over rusted steel chase covers
with aluminum caping. The ones that I capped were triple insulated pipes and I got the aluminum within 1-2 inches square around the 10 inch round flu-pipe. The chase covers were 64 inches X 32inches rectangle. I used
a tube of Liquid nails on each chase to keep the Aluminum away
from the rusted Galvanized steel. I did 4 of these and was wondering would the Aluminum distort from heat at 36-42' above
the floor height. So far so good but its still hot out.
I have been a contractor for around thirty years.
