Cleaning dashed walls
I've got the job of cleaning a dashed wall which has become rather grubby - there is black residue on it and the white plaster has seen better days.
Does anyone on here know of a substance that can be used to clean these types of wall and how much it costs?
I know that some spray on products are available but from where I don't know. I also don't know how good there are either.
Can anyone help me out???
Thanks in advance.
I've tried looking on the net for a chemical solution as I was convinced there was one! But no luck.
I've seen this problem before and have used household bleach with success but you need to put some elbow grease into it!
Pressure washing works but can make any loose bits fly off and of course the algae comes back sooner or later.
Try asking at your local builders merchant, they deal in aggregates and masonary so should have heard of something.
I think that milking machine cleaning fluid can be diluted and used on dashed walls...but I was hoping for something specifically for the job.
i did this by making my own recipie.
Use a mixture of a good quality herbicide (I used ROUNDUP) mixed with a very dilute caustic solution. Spray on and leave overnight then hose off again. Mine came up a treat.
All the best.
I have also heard that milking machine cleaning fluid is particularly good for this job...
Try sodium hyperchorite the liquid they use to shock swimming pools.
But be very carefull using this stuff.
I don't mean to be nannying you, but you net to make sure you don't get any on you.
Cover up youself, completely and watch you dont get it on any plants etc.
Dilute some in a bucket with some water (trial & error).
Brush it on with a stiff broom leave it for say 15-20 min
Then power wash it off
When washed down and wait till dry, then treat with a funguscide
