bmelanco Newbie   Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Upstate NY Posts: 6	Cinder Block Perimeter Foundation Hello Can anyone suggest a good site or book that describes installing a simple cinder block perimeter foundation? I'm looking to put in a simple foundation for a free standing greenhouse. I'm not finding much on the internet on my own. Thanks Brian

itsreallyconc Member   Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: north atlanta suburb Posts: 2,020	Cinder Block Perimeter Foundation anytime you bld in upstate ny, you have to consider frost depth,,, that'll take a slight sub-surface footer outta the game,,, might consider piles ( submerged columns ) as an alternative,,, if you're keeping heat in the ground, frost won't be a problem,,, if its a very small ( indifinitive ) bldg, conc slab might be a good alternative. our local binghamton greenhouses had no foundations & cinder floors.
