Chimney Waterproofing

Chimney Waterproofing
I am having a chimney company waterproof my chimney. They say they use a water base product.
1. Does the chimney need to be completely dry before applying the product?
2. What is the lowest temperature that you can apply the coating?
3. How long should you allow it to dry before a rain?
Thanks,
Jerry

Chimney Waterproofing

Chimneys don't need to be waterproofed, they just need to be maintained.

Chimney Waterproofing

Hello Ron -

When the chimney company was here they put a new mortar crown on. They said the new crown should be sealed with the same waterproofing since it was new. What do you think about the crown?

Thanks for your response.
