Chimney Surrounds?

Any suggestions on pre-fab sourrounds for a chemney?

I will be installing a gas fireplace with B-vent (8")....we already have one fireplace with a real chemney of red brick.

The new chemney is on the second floor at the back of the house....so it only needs to go up a few feet....may or may not be real visible from the street...so...while I would like it to somewhat look like the existing brick chemney....not manditory.

Suggestions? Things to avoid?

Chimney Surrounds?

While they may exist, I have never seen a premanufactured surround. Perhaps there are too many variables of roof pitch, chimney height, etc. All the surrounds I've seen have been constructed in place.

They exist but are like masonite siding and crumble at the slightest hint of moisture.

If the chimney does not go above the roof to much and it is up in the air out of main view then hardie panel will work and paint brick onto it with red brick colored paint and paint the mortar lines in afterwards...
