Chimney - brick ?
What type of brick is used for the upper section of the chimney as it exists the roof?
A friend needs to rebuild his. |
Most of the time its just a decortive brick( 2.5" high x 3.5" deep x 7.5" long) or you can just use a grey brick of the same size. There is also a brick called a Jumbo brick that also can be used. I have also used a block that is already factory made up into a square but weather it is the right size or not you will have to determine. Go to your local brick supplier and they will be able to fix you up.

Just a personal opinion...but if the home currently has any exposed brick, I would try to match it with the chimney.

Is there a special type of brick to use on a chimney?
Someone said a 'water struck'???? brick should be used but I am not sure. I would think that one could not use a walk way paver brick for a chimney but I am not sure??? |
