Child's playhouse
I am building a playhouse for my daughter and it has a loft 8 feet in the air. I am going to build a ladder to get up into it. Does anybody have any ideas on how to close the hole when she is up their so she will not fall through. She is going to be five in June and weighs a whopping 36 pounds so I do not know what to do. I think a hinged trap door will be to heavy.

Child's playhouse
Sounds way too dangerous for her age. Please reconsider.
If your going to pursue it, I would suggest a short fence around the opening up in the loft with a spring hinged gate versus closing/opening the hatch which could be a finger [or other pinching issue] Build something on the ground.... Wait a few years... |
