cement joints


have pool deck, boards were used at the concrete joints when the deck was poured. boards are rotten what do i need to use to fill in the joints

remove the old boards, fill the gap with ethafoam (foam rope) and a butyl caulking over that.

remove 'em, of course,,, then clean the conc sidewalls well & install closed-cell backer rod about 1/2" below the conc's surface,,, best to use a size that needs to be forced into the jnt meaning you won't find it in any apron store,,, industrial or const supply house will have it,,, then seal the jnt w/sika np1 PER DIRECTIONS ! ! ! there are other mtls but you can, at least, find this at your apron store's masonary aisle,,, polysulfide, polyurethane, or 100% silicone's the mtl you want to use im-n-s-h-fo,,, would never use butyl acrylic
