cement board for tub/shower kit?
Right now my bathroom is completely gutted, now that I'm putting it back to together I'm wondering about some durock backing.
I'm only putting tile on the floor
I will have a tub with a 3-piece shower kit, and a ceiling ventilation fan.
I'll apply it to the flooring, but what about the walls, should I do it at all and to what height? Ceiling?
For the slight added cost, why not? Just in case water gets behind the seams. I would have it go up to just below the top of the shower kit walls. If you stop it 1" below you can install greenboard or that new sheet good for high moisture areas above it.
